Exploring Kenyan Naturals
The first Kenyan natural we roasted was an award-winning coffee from David Maguta, and it completely changed how we saw coffee. Naturals are a reminder that coffee, after all, comes from a fruit - and through some alchemy, the sugars and aromas of the coffee cherry show up in your cup. In this cupping session, we hope to pass on our amusement of Kenyan naturals to you.
We'll take you through what it takes to produce a natural coffee, why farmers choose this process, and the risks involved. Then, we’ll cup exclusive coffees from Kenyan co-operatives—farmers who are experimenting and pushing boundaries with natural processing.
To top it off, you'll take home a 250g bag of your favorite coffee from the session, along with a brewer’s note to help you get the best out of your natural coffee at home. These coffees are rare finds—we only secured a few samples, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
